Iain Wight is a seasoned executive with over three decades of experience leading teams in high-technology sectors, notably within performance automotive and motorsport industries. He began his career as an electronics engineer at Ferranti, focusing on aircraft navigation systems, before transitioning to the automotive sector with Bosch. In 1995, he joined Pi Research as Sales Manager, contributing to the company's expansion in motorsport electronics and successful sale to Ford Motor Company. Wight then spent over 14 years at Ricardo plc, where he led the High-Performance Transmission division to become a 170 strong profitable business. In 2017, he became Business Development Director at Williams Advanced Engineering, leading commercial, business development, and marketing teams, and playing a pivotal role in the company's rapid growth and establishment as a leader in high-performance electrification across various sectors. In February 2022, Wight was appointed Chief Commercial Officer at InoBat, a company specializing in electric vehicle battery technology and is currently an Advisory Board Member. Beyond his executive roles, he has been actively involved with the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA), serving as Chairman from August 2017 and later as Vice Chairman from April 2023. In April 2024, he founded Iain Wight Consulting Ltd., offering engineering-related technical and commercial consulting services supporting a number of companies, including McMurtry Automotive to help develop and commercialise the Applied Technology from the record breaking Spéirling vehicle.
